Guide Story
Iceland Road-Trip 10 days with motorhome

10 days, one campervan, and a relentless chase across the Land of Fire and Ice. Facing incoming storms, we flipped our entire route to keep bad weather one step behind—racing across the Ring Road and Golden Circle through towering waterfalls, glacial lagoons, and black sand beaches. Along the way, we successfully spotted majestic whales breaking the Arctic waters and caught the magical glow of the Northern Lights three separate times, finishing with an unforgettable view of the green skies danci

Day 1

On our first day we spend our day preparing for our road trip in the ring road by doing a first stop at the supermarket buying all the supplied that we would need, and the rest of our evening exploring the capital of Iceland.

The reason that we decided to start with the ring road and not with the golden circle as it was our initial plan, was because of the weather forecast showing huge storm would come. So, by changing our initial plan we managed to have the storm always a day behind us, and that decision was the reason of our trip to succeed.

Day 6

That day the wind gusts were reaching speeds up to 31 km/h. The problem was that if you have an accident with the wind speeds being more than 15 km/h the insurance doesn't cover you.
Because of that we visited only one place 10 minutes driving from our campsite and we spend the rest of the day relaxing and preparing from the next days of our road trip.
That day also we saw in the news a bridge that we had passed a day ago it was overflood, and that was a confirmation of our good decision to start with the ring road instead of the golden circle as we planned initially.
